Meet Scorpion
The tableau has seven columns. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Scorpion on zjgsxyjs.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits.
The initial seven columns
Keep these points in mind. Three cards remain in the stock. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. All cards in the last three columns are face up.
Build in the same suit
Keep these points in mind. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit.
Order within a group may vary
Here are the details for this mode. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together.
The empty-column rule
Keep these points in mind. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider.
Uncover another choice
An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up.
The final three cards
The following details apply here. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty.
Complete a suit
A few details help explain this feature. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up.
Practice Scorpion decisions
A few details help explain this feature. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation.
Save a Scorpion session
A few details help explain this feature. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you remove local saved games and results. Scorpion keeps a separate saved position when game saving is enabled.
